From the Guild Mistress:
Welcome to the Port Oasis Clothier’s Guild! We are medieval/Renaissance clothing
enthusiasts in the Shire of Port Oasis, located in the Kingdom of AEthelmearc
(southern West Virginia); a division of the Society for Creative Anachronism.
We are a diverse group of clothiers, dedicated to employing, learning and teaching
clothing construction, tailoring, embellishment and textile arts as they were practiced
prior to 1600. Our interests includes garments, shoes, embroidery, black work,
needle arts, fashion accessories, table linens, fiber arts, cloth dyeing, leather work
and so much more!
We are open to anyone interested in clothing and textile arts, from preparation to the
finished product, from novice to expert. We encourage sharing our knowledge
remembering that everyone is a beginner at some point.
The Port Oasis Clothier’s Guild holds meetings monthly and also participates in
classes and demonstrations throughout the year. Our discussion list is open to all, at
Yahoo groups, under (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/POClothiersGuild we
invite you to participate at what ever level you would enjoy. Come and join us!
